Heidi Mortensen is known for her ability to listen to her clients, translate their ideas into something more than they had hoped for, and make the whole process enjoyable.
Growing up in Hawaii with parents who emigrated from Denmark and Germany made for an interesting blend of relaxed indoor-outdoor tropical living and European design aesthetics in her formative years. She pursued a fine arts education that included studies in art history, and color and design principles. An unexpected introduction to the construction industry after university led to a whole new set of skills and an understanding of what’s involved in the construction of a house. This led to working with homeowners to translate her creativity into beautiful interiors.
Heidi’s fine arts background is apparent in the attention given to color, texture, light, and proportion and her practical approach ensures an organized process and focus on functionality and the specific needs of her client.
After 22 years as a full service interior designer in San Francisco, CA, Heidi now calls New Orleans home and offers design and color consultation services in this vibrant and beautiful city.
